In the Test, 16x20, oil, stretched linen, $2200
This chestnut equitation horse reminds me of one I rode in the '90s. He had such a gentle demeanor and perfect, even way of navigating even the most difficult medal courses. |
Check Your Pace, 16x20, oil, stretched linen, $2200
I feel the energy and excitement in this one. Like being at the end of a round, knowing that you'll be clear after the next, final fence. |
Sovereign, 20x16, oil, stretched linen, $2300
While this black Friesian stallion isn't a hunter/jumper type, I find his conformation and strong presence powerful, yet peaceful. The freedom of him trotting on the beach and the highlights being transparency from the background, make this one seem light and happy. |

Batman, 12x16, oil/acrylic, stretched canvas. $650
This guy looks to me like he's just galloping around the junior jumpers, winning at his job. Bold but careful. |
Frosty, 12x16, oil/acrylic, stretched canvas. $650
I've painted this one a few times and this is my favorite version of him. The kind eye and eager expression draws you in. |
Light Feel, 12x16, oil/acrylic, stretched canvas. $650
The first painting I did in this style. I think he looks like a classic bay equitation horse. Calm and collected, ready and responsive. |
Off the Counter Lead, 12x16, acrylic, stretched canvas. $650
This was a challenge from an artist friend to paint with my left hand. I also used a different technique to create the abstract background. A fun project, and successful one. |

Medal Winner, 16x20, oil on canvas panel. $3400
A slightly older painting, brings back memories of my Medal / Maclay days. A rider at my stables recognized the horse I used from the reference photo. I think I'd like to ride him! |
Calgary Tame & Laura Kraut, 12x12 wood panel. $2700
During the 2023 Nations Cup in San Juan Capistrano, CA, I had a booth in the vendor village where I was painting live. I took tons of photos and just loved the kind expression of Calgary Tame walking around the schooling ring before warming up. I think he was second in a big class that weekend! |
Breaking Through, 3'x4' feet, mixed media on hardboard, $4,400
**First painting from my latest series***
I'm so excited about the new, larger-scale paintings I'm working on. They are thick with texture and have abstract backgrounds, which is a fun thing for me -- using big brush strokes, mixing and blending. Then I tighten up the painting with a charcoal drawing and finish by painting the horse with oil paint. "Breaking Through" got it's name for the way I feel about the direction of my creative work!

**Purchase all 3 from the "View from Above" series for $1000**
I was the lucky rider above that got to take these photos. And if you follow me on Instagram, you'll see that I post a lot like this in stories. These three all had unique personalities, but were all very sweet and delightful to ride.

Wiley, 12x12, oil on wood panel, $1050
He was one of our 100+ foster puppies we've had over the years. Wiley got free roam of the house because he'd just leap over the gates. This smart little dude has a forever family now. |
Josh, 8x8, oil on wood panel, $580 SOLD
He belongs to a woman that also has a grey horse. Painting his cotton-ball white fur was a fun with all of it's yellows, blues, and greens. And yes, he was smiling in the real photo too! |
Sammy, 8x8, oil on wood panel, $420
My friend found Sammy on the street when she left my home one night. We brought him in and cared for him until we figured out who he belonged to. The owner told us he was 19 years old! |

Bloodhound, 6x6, oil on hardboard, $290
One of the trainers at the gym had this dog out front standing in perfect light. I grabbed this shot when he shook his big wiggly neck. |
Foster Pup Ears, 6x6, oil on hardboard, $290
This girl was another one of the foster puppies we've cared for. Her ears were incredibly big for her little body and she was a spunky little one. She was adopted. |
Betty, 6x6, oil on hardboard, $290
The one and only time I tried playing pickleball, miss Betty White was on the court. She smiled for the camera and became my next painting. |
Foster Pup Baby, 6x6, oil on hardboard, $290
This tiny puppy was so sweet, and while he liked to play, he also enjoyed lounging in the sun. While his sibling ran around I took this photo to paint. He was also adopted. |
